**EXTRA CREDIT**

In order to get extra credit points, I have developed a 5th website in iweb. The topic of this website is to talk about my undying love for the White Sox team. I decided to go with a black background, because black is the official color of the White Sox. I developed a title in Adobe Illustrator and I imported that title over to iweb. From there, I imported pictures that I have taken at various games from over the years. I imported pictures of Paul Konerko, because he is my favorite White Sox player.

Week 15

Throughout this week... I have installed my documentary clips and my content into my website. I still have alot of work to do! I need to learn how to change the format of my website and put my own pictures into the heading. I have installed a variety of clips, with content that goes along with those clips.

Week 14

Instead of making my second website in Dreamweaver due to complications, I decided to use Iweb instead. I created A brand new Touch of Color in Iweb. Though, I kept the same title that I made in Photoshop. In addition, I decided to chose an Iweb background that is colorful and matches the colors that are in my pictures. I decided to have 3-4 pictures per page with very little content.. so the viewer can look at my pictures, instead of reading alot of text. I broke the pages up based on the genre of pictures. The first page is my welcome page, the next page talks about Chicago, the next page shows pictures that can relate to life in general, and the last page are pictures taken from a wine vineyard in Michigan.

Week 13

Here is a sample video from my documentary that I will implement into my website. I have decided to chop up my documentary and embed interesting clips where needed. I didn't want to upload my entire thirty minute documentary, because it would take segments of ten minutes. Therefore, it would break my documentary up into three ten minute segments. This does not have the impact I want to give my audience while watching my clips.

Week 12

I have established a youtube account... so now its time to choose a theme and choose my clips! I needed a theme that draws the attention of people. So I chose something that has alot of images and a bright ten background. I wanted something fancy and cool looking. But, I will need to change the images of the headline. to imges that I have already taken while I was at NBC.

Week 11

During this week, I am deciding which background I want to use through Wordpress. As I stated earlier, I have a collection of about a dozen templates, so now I have to narrow down my search and chose only one. My goal is to embed clips into my website from my documentary, so I will need to establish a youtube account. Once I do this, I will then need to upload the various clips I want to decide to embed. I first needed import clips from my documentary into a m2p file. This took awhile to do in the media lab, but I finally was able to do that. I then upload the files to youtube in order to embed in my website. Next, I have chosen different images I want to use in my website. Now I just need to find a template that works and combine my images, clips, and content into one coherent website.

Week 10

As I continue to trouble shoot my dreamweaver problem... I will start on my next website. For our final project, we are to create a website using Wordpress. With this program, I'm crossing my fingers so that it is not as confusing as Dreamweaver! This week we began to search around on the web to fin templates that relate to my topic. Throughout the course of the semester, I have been putting together my Senior Project. For my Senior Project I have developed a 30 minute television documentary, in which I interviewed people that work at NBC News. I interned at NBC with political reporter, Mary Ann Ahern, so while I was there I established many relationships with people in which I interviewed. My concept with my next website is to show my audience the process of the news making process and to introduce them to the key players at NBC News. Because I will be showing clips from my documentary, I thought it would be beneficial to find a Wordpress template that relates to my topic. I have uploaded a few different backgrounds that I am deciding between for my next website.

Week 9

I am still struggling with Dreamweaver! I have issued my title and issued my pictures I want to use, but my website is not coming out the way I want it to look! It's way to simple and it does not draw the attention of my viewers! Dreamweaver is too confusing! I tried to upload my site to Hostmonster, but I'm having difficulty doing that and linking it back to my homepage. I have tried numerous times and it's still not working! I have the images I want to use, the title I want to use... but I can not get them all together into an appealing website. I have conducted my site through dreamweaver, but now I just need to upload it to hostmonster, or else I will use Iweb because I am familiar with the process. To be continued....

Week 8

As I stated earlier...Dreamweaver is a very difficult program to use! I was having much difficulty last week in constructing my new website, because I am a beginner to web design. Dreamweaver, I believe, doesn't give me the options that Iweb gave me. I was playing around in Dreamweaver... But my end result looked like the images above. To me this look is to simple and boring... So I'm in the process of trying to spice it up a bit.

My ultimate goal for A Touch Of Color is to use many images that I took while I was in photography class. The first page I wanted to use a shade of green for the background. The images I used are different fruits (apples and watermelon) that I just loved the color! I wanted to make my content really short with each image, because the goal is to draw the attention to the picture, not the content. The content explains the image and how color can be used in life's lessons. Dreamweaver was only giving me the option to put the images in a straight line on one side of the page, while the content went on the right side of the page. I didn't like this, because it looks too boring. Therefore, I am in the process of changing A Touch of Color around a bit. I may decide to use Iweb.

Week 7

Our next assignment for class was to make a new website utilizing Dreamweaver. This week I was introduced to Dreamweaver and I think it is the most confusing program ever! It is not user-friendly to beginners of web design. This program is the hardest thing to figure out! I have googled many "How To" steps in using Dreamweaver, but its not as simple as I want them to be.

With my next website... I wanted to make a very simple website with some of my photography images from Monte's class. My next site is titled A Touch Of Color. Basically, the concept of this site is to make it very simple, but colorful. I used photoshop to make my title. I have uploaded 4 versions of my title. I wanted to make a variety of titles, because I was unsure of what direction I wanted to go in. I didn't know If I wanted my title very colorful and make my background of my website simple. OR if I wanted to go the opposite direction and make my title simple, with my background colorful. I have chosen to use the title that is very simple, with little color. I knew that with this site, I was going to be using alot of green, so I wanted to implement green into my title, to match my images and to draw the attention of my viewers.

As I have stated, Dreamweaver is a very complex program. My goal was to upload my title to every page of my site, but I was unsure of how to do that. Professor Peck walked my through uploading my title, but we moved really fast and I was unable to jot down notes. So as I came back in the lab later on to continue to work on my site, I was unsure of how to put it all together with my title on each page. So I need to work on understanding this program better or else I may use iweb to make this website.

Week 6

During this week... I wanted to revamp my website that I did last week. Therefore, I added an extra page of images for the viewer. Everyone loves pictures and again I wanted to try an SELL San Fran to my audience! In order to do that I though pictures would be a great idea! So.. I added about 15 more images from a cafe called Buena Vista. Buena Vista is known as the first bar/restaurant in the US to have Irish Coffee. This place made up Irish Coffee! I was so fascinated by this, so I used my photography skills to take really cool and unique pictures while I was there. For this page on my website, I wanted to follow the same theme of a colorful background. I thought this would really pop out at my viewers. Also, since I used so many images, this page is mostly images over content.

week 5

Throughout this week, we had been asked to create a new website to be included with our first website. This next website I created through iweb. The topic of this site, was to be anything we wanted... So I decided to talk about my vacation to San Francisco. As I went to San Fran last year, I took many pictures of the city and I wanted to share all those with my audience. As I have stated earlier, I used iweb for this site, which made it very easy and accessible.
Craft- I crafted this site implementing the first program I had used, which is iweb. While making this website, I wanted to use the color purple in my site, So I crafted a few different images in photoshop to be used as part of the background. I wanted to make it very colorful and loud, so I chose a site with a colorful background. I used over 20 images for this site, so I utilized photoshop to make the images really pop at your eyes.
Concept- The first page of this site is an introduction to myself and about my vacation. I talked about where we went and what I like about San Fran. I wanted to give the viewers a little background information about myself. The next few pages I give the viewers images to look at. I also talk about what I did on my vacation.
Composition-Overall, I really enjoyed making this site. I liked how I used plenty of images from vacation to show to the viewers. MY hope was to try and sell San Francisco, so that other people can look at all the fun stuff I did and would want to travel there in the future. Therefore, my goal for my composition on this website was to make it look smooth, catchy, and enticing.

Week 4

Craft: This week we had to design a welcome homepage in the program Dreamweaver. We took image captures of our blog website and my two other websites. We incorporated these images into the the welcome page. I want my page to look very unique and different. I chose dark gray as the background and purple to go behind the text. I needed to spice my page up a bit, so I imported an image of clouds into photoshop. In photoshop, I played around with the image a bit and added it onto my page. I am still playing around with my website, but I have captured the before and after for you!

Week 3

Craft: This week I was introduced to the website hostmonster. I was able to set up an account and from there I loaded my entire iweb document. I established my website domain as www.mandycb.com/iweb1 and www.mandycb.com/iweb2. I wanted to double check my website to make sure that everything looked seamless. Though, I did find too much negative space for the majority of my pages. In order to improve my website, I will need to add more images and more text. Therefore, that will be homework for me to work before next week.

Week 2

Concept: As we were given this assignment, I had no idea what topic I wanted to do. I knew I needed a collection of pictures and I needed to portray to my audience a story behind those pictures. I was caught a little off guard, because I had to quickly put together the first two pages of my website last week in class. I started to think creatively and I knew I wanted my site to be humorous to my audience. Therefore, I looked through a collection of my pictures.... and found Boo! I thought to myself..who doesn't love a cute, chubby, funny looking little bulldog. Basically, everyone has to love a bulldog. If anyone has met Boo, they would automatically think that shes a "pre-madonna" dog who craves all the attention she can get. Therefore, I came up with the idea "True Life- Im a Supermodel" because it reflects her true personality.

Craft: I had an array of pictures of Boo, but it just wasn't enough. I needed Photoshop to do the trick. I started to brainstorm ideas that I can photoshop into Boo's pictures. I started to google a variety of images; ie: lips, bathing suits, eye lashes, etc. From there I combined those images found on google to the images I had already. At times, it was a little tedious, but I wanted to fully execute the idea I had. I wanted to set the site up similar to as if it were Boo Gorgeous's website promoting herself. Therefore, on each page I combined images and text and spoke in first person as if it were really Boo writing. I wanted my site to be funny and I hope I achieved my goal.

Composition: As I stated earlier, I combined both pictures and text to complete my website. I wanted to use the negative space wisely, so I rarely have a wide-open blank space. Though, at times it was a little difficult coming up with different ideas to write about.
